Happy 2017! I hope you and your loved ones enjoyed a fun and blessed holiday season.

It’s been a while since I last posted. I won’t bore you with the details but I’ve been fighting a battle of self-acceptance. To be honest it’s scary to put oneself out there, as those of you in business (and many other pursuits) know.

With the help of some wonderful guides, both human and spirit, I’ve been learning to value who I really am, not who I think someone else thinks I should be. Realizing that I – like all of us – have unique gifts that are meant to be shared. That denying myself the pleasure of fully honoring these gifts and standing up for my right to do so serves no purpose other than to withhold Light from the world – Light the world so desperately needs.

We’ve recently transitioned into a brand new year. I’ll be honest with you – my gut feeling is that we’re going to start seeing one hell of a shake-up in 2017. But I don’t see it as a bad thing. Rather, as an opportunity and an invitation to shed that which is no longer relevant and allow ourselves to shine.

For me, a key part of letting my light shine is to continue to share these thoughts and inspirations with you. Thank you so much for reading, and being the beautiful person you are.

At the heart of your Being, at the heart of ALL there is, is Light. A Light that can never be extinguished, and that is stronger than any darkness. Never forget it. Let it be a beacon to guide us safely through the storm.

How will you let your Light shine this year?

Healing starts here.

"Sun Worshippers" floral painting of echinacea
“Sun Worshippers,” (echinacea.) Watercolor on paper, 8×11″. This painting is available for sale – reply below for details.

“Loving myself heals my life. Treating myself firmly but gently nourishes my mind, body and soul!”

If you want to change your life, start first with loving yourself. Your own loving attitude is like the warm rays of the sun that allow your soul to grow.

Sometimes it’s hard to feel loving towards ourselves, especially when we let ourselves down. It can help to think of yourself as a very small child, just learning how the world works.

If a very young child falls on her face, do you beat up on her for her mistake?

Of course not! You comfort her and set her back on the ground to try again. And you trust that she will learn to walk and then to run. Sometimes the act of falling is just what she needs to help her learn!

Stop beating up on yourself. If you fall down, brush yourself off, give yourself a hug, and set yourself down again in the right direction to take the next step towards the Light.

You’ll be amazed at how you start to bloom!

Food: fuel or nourishment?

Panda: Calm strength, peace, deliberate action, balance, material pleasure, personal boundaries Shadow side: Passivity, digestive upset
Today’s Affirmation: “I slow down the pace of my eating and savor the flavor of food.”

All matter is energy. What we take into our bodies affects us on many levels – not just physical but emotional, mental and spiritual.

What you eat does matter. HOW you eat matters, too. In our society we tend to think of food as fuel. Fill ‘er up, and get back on the road!

Today, try thinking of your meals as a way of loving yourself. Choose something nourishing to eat, and allow yourself time to really enjoy it. Then notice the difference in how you feel after a meal!
