On Freedom (channeled message from ascended master El Morya)

Freedom. Does your soul crave it? Mine does.

I don’t know of anyone else who considers Humans a spirit animal, but why not? We are of the earth just like any creature.

Every animal has what I think of as its super powers: those qualities and abilities that really set it apart and help it to survive and thrive. For Humanity, I’d say our super powers are these: Cleverness, Creativity, Compassion and Love (when we’re at our best)…and Freedom.

Maybe other animals have free will choice to step out of alignment with divine will, I don’t know. But as far as I know, we’re the only one on this planet to have acted on it.

But that also means we have the free will choice to step back into alignment, and within that, to use our amazing powers of creativity to literally create miracles.

(Don’t believe in miracles? The word “miracle” simply means “something wonderous.” Miracles are just science we don’t understand. What would a cave man have thought of a cell phone?)

The ascended master El Morya has been teaching me stuff about freedom lately. (Or trying to, anyway: I can be a little dense sometimes.) Here is some of the wisdom he relayed to me:

El Morya on Freedom

El MoryaBelieve me when I say, you are free. Ask your soul. Ask it what it wants. It will tell you. Believe it, and believe that as soon as you decide, as soon as you make the choice to allow yourself the freedom your soul desires, the way will be laid open for you, because your soul’s will is aligned with the will of God.

You must be clear on this. To become clear, you must learn to know yourself. And to know yourself, you must be willing to love yourself for who you are. Compassion is necessary. Objectivity is necessary. Love is imperative.

You must look at yourself without judgement and admit the truth of who you are. And release attachment to projected images of your self generated by a frightened and discontented ego. To release the shame, release the guilt, release the sense of obligation.

You must look at yourself as though at a wild animal, a being in its natural state: This is what it is, this is what it needs to survive and thrive, and when it is placed in its right environment it naturally contributes to the health and workings of the All.

But you are more than a wild animal, you are a conscious being with the power to choose and to create your own reality, your own environment, your own destiny.

Will you choose to create a world and an environment that pinches and restricts and worries you? [Channeler’s note: No self-respecting wild animal would choose that!]  That is what you have created in the past, and you are at this moment still experiencing the effects of this decision.

Understand that what you are experiencing now is the energetic manifestation of the state of your mind, your consciousness, in the past…Now you are experiencing a shift in consciousness from several months back. If you choose to maintain the momentum of this shift, you will continue to see improvements in your material existence corresponding to the cleansing and the learning that you have been doing at the spiritual level.

It happens quicker or slower in different areas of your life, depending on how adept you are, how far you have progressed in each area and according to your soul’s purpose as well as accumulated karma in each area. In some areas you are relatively clear, so your prayers and requests are easily granted. In other areas where you have had major accumulations of karma and lessons to learn, you will experience the shift over a longer period of time.   Yet like the breaking of a dam, these can at some point shift very quickly.

It happens in the mind first, then on the material plane: you will experience the shifts in the material to bring you the freedom you desire as long as you remain steady on your spiritual path.

But Clarity demands self-love. Do you not see that you have been withholding Love? You have been denying yourself your gift and pleasure. Do you not see that you need not judge your gifts? That when you truly give of yourself to God, when you entrust us to assist you, that we will not fail you?

You are loved, we love you so very much. You are a child of God and a true creator spirit. Allow yourself to spread your wings, you eagle child…you are bigger than you have ever believed and even now as you are starting to lift yourself out of the cavern in which you have kept yourself locked for so many lifetimes, even now as you just begin to lift your eyes to the sky, you don’t even begin to comprehend the depth of love there is for you and the immense presence that is your soul.

Allow yourself to be. Remember who you are. You are an angelic being of immense wisdom, love, and light. Allow her [your soul] to shine. Allow her to be. Allow her to do.

And if you need help, ask.

Ask for a softening of that which binds you. Ask above all for forgiveness. Forgive your self. You have done nothing wrong. You like all humans have fallen into forgetfulness, forgetting who you are, forgetting you are a divine being, a brilliant and beautiful child of Light. But there is no shame in that circumstance—it is simply the nature of humanity and there is a reason for it.

So forgive yourself. And love yourself. And if you need help, ask for it. We are here.

So what I’m taking from this at the moment is, if you really want to be free, be honest with yourself. Be frankly, nakedly honest about who you are and what you need. Be willing to give yourself the environment you need to thrive. And don’t be ashamed to take it. Because when we have what we really need, that’s when we are free to give the most.

“Skunk saved me!” (True spirit animal story)

skunk spirit animal oracle card A client of mine (I’ll call her Jane) shared this with me this week. I thought it was a cool true spirit animal story, and with her permission I’d like to share it with you, too:

Jane stepped into her local car dealership last Saturday with the intention of just test driving a specific vehicle.

“But you know how they are,” she wrote me. “They held me captive ‘till I bought a car.

“I was not happy. It wasn’t the right car. I was so mad at myself. I spent too much, I didn’t feel right about the deal, and I was also sad because I wasted my day off getting suckered into it.

But as I’m tossing and turning in the night and trying to relax, guess who shows up? Skunk. He kind of scampers on to the frame of my mind’s eye out of the right hand corner. Immediately I grabbed my tablet and looked up the meaning of skunk.

‘Back Off!’  is the message I got from it. ‘Stop trying so hard. Relax and let the situation resolve itself.’

“It also said, ‘you don’t have to ‘make a stink.’ You have the confidence to right a wrong with a calm heart.’

“Isn’t that great? It’s sure what I needed to hear. I relaxed and immediately felt myself slip back into alignment.”

Long story short, Jane returned to the dealership the next day and calmly canceled the deal.  “Thanks, Skunk spirit!” she wrote. And, “Thanks for bringing the critters into my life. Their wisdom and companionship is really a help and a comfort.”

When spirit animals show up for you (and they will), pay attention—they really are here to help us out! 🙂

Angelic Protection Technique for Lonely Hearts

heart angel wings

Happy Valentine’s Day! Oh, yes. The day we celebrate Love.

True Love shared with another nourishes and raises both of you to new levels of fulfillment, joy, and purpose.

But then there is the relentless, desperate, consuming aspect of love. The pain we feel when the person we love doesn’t share our feelings. Or when they return our love with hurtfulness or indifference. Or when our feelings of love for the person cross the bounds of what is appropriate for the relationship—but still, our heart bleeds with longing.

When Love Hurts…

This kind of “love” can consume us. If it goes on too long, it can lead to numbness, depression, and loss of self. In extreme cases a person really can die of a broken heart.

My angels recently showed me a simple protection technique for lonely hearts. Whether you are in a relationship or not, it can help ease any pain you might be feeling connected with love.

It starts with a realization:

  • There is true love, or divine love. This love is unconditional, and always healing.
  • Then, there is “human” love (for lack of a better word). This is the love that leads to attachment and, if not met with divine love, will lead to pain.
  • This “human love” is not truly love. Rather, it is a crying out for true love. You can also think of it as love that has been warped or misdirected through fear and separation consciousness so that it creates pain instead of healing.
  • Most of the time, because we are human, the love we feel for another will include a combination of divine and human love.

So here is the suggestion:

When you become aware of discomfort in love—whether it be a sense of longing, loneliness, pain, or hurt—try this:

1. Visualize the love you feel for the other person as rays of pink or golden light.
2. As those rays reach the person, allow them to divide. See some of the rays surrounding the person and blessing them with divine love.
3. Then, see the other rays bending back and coming to you. These were the “human love” rays you sent.
4. As these human love rays return to your heart, a transmutation process takes place, cleansing them and returning them to their true state of divine love.
5. Open your heart and allow yourself receive this divine love into your being. You will likely feel a surge of well-being, joy, and inner peace.

Enjoy your Valentine’s Day, and if you try this technique please let me know how it works for you!

The Big “G”

rock pile on mountain peak

Sometimes when we have a vision, we just want to get there.

We can’t wait to reach our Goal. It’s the peak, the pinnacle, the big “G” – and we’ll never be satisfied until we achieve it.

But most of the time, the path from point “A” to that big “G” takes us first through points B, C, D, E, and F.

And sometimes, in our rush to get through these, we end up taking a few wrong turns down some pretty dark alleys.

Why not just settle in, trust you’ll get there when the time is right, and enjoy the sights and sounds, new friends and exciting new experiences along the way?

You may find that the big G is closer than you think. In fact, you may already be there.

Rabbit Totem: Spirit Meaning of Rabbit

Rabbit Power Animal Despite its small size and apparent weakness, Rabbit can be an incredibly powerful spirit animal with an abundance of meanings. And, in fact, Abundance is one of them!

Rabbit: Power Animal of Fertility, Abundance, and Creativity

Rabbits, rabbits everywhere – that’s what it seems like in spring, anyway, when litters of young bunnies grow large enough to hop out of their nests and go bouncing like popcorn out of the hedges. Rabbits are legendary for their reproductive abilities. A Miami University staff member once estimated that at average rates of reproduction and without disease or predation, a single mother rabbit and her female babies could theoretically produce over 187 billion offspring in just seven years. This, of course, makes Rabbit an awesome ally when we are working towards improving Abundance in our lives. Bunnies also represent creative abundance and have much to offer as a power animal for creativity.

Rabbits have good reason to multiply, since in the real world nearly everything eats them. In Richard Adams’ epic tale about rabbits, Watership Down, the rabbits’ mythical hero El-Ahrairah was called “The Prince with a Thousand Enemies” for this very reason. This brings us to three more of Rabbit’s spiritual associations: Sensitivity, Fear, and the Trickster.

The Sensitive Rabbit

Because Rabbits must always be on the lookout for danger, they are highly sensitive. Their big ears are always swiveling around, picking up the slightest sounds. Their eyes, too, are large, and placed on the sides of their heads so they can see virtually all the way around without even turning their heads. And their little noses? Continually twitching to catch scents on the wind. Rabbits tolerate cold well, but are highly sensitive to heat, noise and commotion.

Rabbit people, too, tend to be highly sensitive. If you have Rabbit spirit animal energy, you may be especially perceptive, intuitive, and/or empathic. You may also be highly artistic or musical. If this is so, you will be most productive and creative in peaceful, quiet surroundings – or at least you should have access to a quiet place to retreat to when you do your work, just as the mother Rabbit digs herself a burrow to bear her young.

Sometimes being a sensitive person can get a bit overwhelming, leading to anxiety. It can also sometimes show up as physical or environmental sensitivity, or even allergies. If this happens to you, consider that your sensitive nature is actually a blessing. Like Rabbit, you have built-in warning systems that let you know when you’ve entered a situation that may not be in your best interests. When Rabbit feels endangered, she takes refuge in her burrow. Sensitive people often find solace in Mother Earth. Spending time in nature or doing activities like gardening or working with clay may bring you a sense of peace and help you feel more grounded.

Overcoming Fear: Rabbit as Trickster and Warrior

The shadow side of Rabbit energy is to be always living in fear, using avoidance as a protective mechanism by running scared or hiding oneself away. Yes, there are times when fear is justified, and running away from the situation or laying low can save our skins. But if you notice that this type of behavior has become a pattern in your life that is keeping you from your goals or from growing in a positive direction, it’s time to turn that energy around. One way is to call upon Rabbit’s Trickster side.

Wild rabbits, when chased, will run in a confusing, zig-zag pattern. They are also very good at losing their pursuers in the “briar patch.” No wonder so many stories from many parts of the world (including the Brer Rabbit stories of the American South, and even Bugs Bunny), feature Rabbit as Trickster. In these stories, Rabbit uses his wit rather than brute strength to win out against much more powerful antagonists. Note, though, that Rabbit’s wit usually has more to do with psychology than with mental calculations. So Rabbit people do well to use their intuitive understanding of people in their defensive strategies. (In other words, fight smart, not hard.) With Rabbits, strength is in numbers, and territory is important, so use your alliances and your knowledge of the territory to your advantage.

Note, too, that Rabbits can also be fierce fighters. They will kick out with their powerful hind feet, and may bite when cornered. So don’t underestimate a Rabbit person – they will tolerate a lot of crap, but once they’re pushed to their limit, watch out! Rabbit people can call upon this little known Warrior aspect of Rabbit if need be.

Also, see if one of Rabbit’s predators calls to you. Rabbit’s biggest predators include all the Canids (dogs, coyotes, foxes, wolves), the Cat family (including bobcats, lynxes and cougars – even domestic cats will prey on young rabbits), and larger birds of prey such as owls, hawks and eagles. Snakes, too, will often go for young rabbits. If you find yourself especially attracted to or scared by any of these animals, they may have good medicine for you to help you overcome your fears.

Intuitive Rabbit

Another very important thing to realize about Rabbits is just how strong their survival instincts are. My daughter once had a pet rabbit named Cuddles. Rather than keep her in a cage, we let Cuddles have the run of our enclosed front porch. One day, the mailman left the door ajar and Cuddles got out. She was on her own for months before we were able to catch her. I was amazed at her ability to fend for herself even through the harsh Wisconsin winter. Rabbit teaches us to trust our instincts and our intuition to guide us. This is another area where sensitive Rabbit people shine – they tend to be very intuitive and often connect readily with the spirit world.

The Practical Side of Rabbit Spirit

Finally, Rabbits have a very specialized digestive system. They eat primarily grasses and other high-fiber foods, including bark in the winter. This material actually gets sorted within the Rabbit’s digestive system.

The food that is more easily digested gets processed and turned into waste in the customary way. (If you have a garden you are probably familiar with Rabbit’s little, round hard droppings, which incidentally are one of the few manures that you can safely turn into the garden soil without composting first.) However, the more fibrous, hard-to-digest material makes a side trip into an organ called the cecum, which corresponds to our appendix but is much larger and better developed. Here, a multitude of friendly digestive organisms goes to work on it, and the material gets passed as a special soft type of dropping that the rabbit then eats and digests in the normal way.

Oh, and by the way, unlike some other grazing animals, Rabbits don’t need to eat continuously. They are active in the morning and evening so eat basically two meals a day, and spend the rest of the day relaxing and digesting.

So, Rabbit is thus a wonderful spirit animal for prioritizing and efficiency. And, if Rabbit is your totem, don’t feel you have to be on the go 100% of the time. You may do better by doing your work in highly productive spurts (and you may find you work best in the mornings and evenings), and spending the rest of your time digesting the experience and enjoying life!
